SEEKONK, Mass. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway into a deadly crash in the parking lot of a Seekonk car dealership Monday afternoon.
The crash happened in front of First Stop Auto Sales off of Fall River Avenue just before 4 p.m.
Detective Matthew Gardiner told 12 News it appears the driver of a pickup truck veered off the road and slammed into several cars parked in the lot. The driver was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Gardiner said a woman who works at the dealership became pinned between the building and a vehicle as a result of the crash. That woman was brought to the hospital and is expected to survive.
There was also a passenger in the pickup truck, identified only as a man who’s believed to be related to the driver, who was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
It’s unclear at this time what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
