Police were called to Indiana Avenue just before 11 p.m. Wednesday for a report of shots fired, according to the incident report obtained by 12 News. Officers arrived to find three victims suffering from apparent injuries.

One of the victims told police he was pistol-whipped, the report said, while another said he was hurt after jumping out a second-story window to escape.

The victims said they were woken up around 10:30 p.m. by the sound of their door being kicked in. At least three male suspects entered wearing sweatshirts and face coverings.

One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victims, which led to a physical struggle, during which three gunshots rang out, according to the report. The suspect then left the room, and two more gunshots were heard.

One of the victims told police she was eventually able to leave the apartment and call 911. She described the suspects as possibly light-skinned Hispanic males in their late 20s.

Two of the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, while a third was treated at the scene, the report said. The extent of their injuries is unclear at this time, and it’s unknown whether anything was stolen during the home invasion.
