4-6 Inches of Snow Projected for RI Thursday Night to Friday Morning

The first snow of the new year may be on its way later this week.
The National Weather Service is projecting snow Thursday night into Friday morning of up to 4 to 6 inches for most of Rhode Island.
AccuWeather is projecting that Rhode Island may be hit with 3 to 6 inches of snow. The company says there is a 50 percent chance of snowfall in that range.

Thursday Night
Snow likely, mainly after 4 am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Friday
Snow, mainly before noon. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 32. North wind 6 to 14 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches possible.
