5 teens charged with beating up classmate in Barrington

BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) — An 18-year-old and four juveniles are facing charges after they allegedly beat up one of their classmates.
Barrington Police Chief Michael Correia told 12 News the male victim was assaulted on the field near the Barrington Department of Public Works on Upland Way.
The 18-year-old victim suffered serious facial injuries, but Correia didn’t have an update on his condition.
Another student recorded video of the incident, according to Correia.
The 18-year-old suspect was identified as Jae V. Hogarth.
Correia said he and the four juveniles are charged with felony assault and disorderly conduct. All five suspects have since been released.
