Amnesty from Library Fines, Local Library Events on Rhode Island Library Day – April 14

Amnesty from Library Fines, Local Library Events on Rhode Island Library Day – Saturday, April 14

The Rhode Island Library Association (RILA) invites you to participate in the 4th Annual Rhode Island Library Day on Saturday, April 14, 2018, which ties into ALA’s National Library Week (April 8 – 14, 2018). Libraries across the state are participating to raise awareness of the value of libraries in their communities.

This day, patrons will be able to eliminate all library fines for overdue items and join in the many events that each library holds. (All public libraries are participating in the overdue fine amnesty.)  Contact your local library to see what is happening in your neighborhood. Using the hashtag #rilibrarieslead, you will see all of the great aspects of Rhode Island Libraries.

Libraries are vital to growing communities. Every day, libraries across the state help Rhode Islanders find information in the areas of employment, health, education, community-related topics, as well as recreational information. Libraries also provide the technology tools and learning programs that members of the community rely on to be successful citizens.

To see what events are happening in your community, visit the RILA website at http://rilibraries.org/RI-Library-Day.
