(WJAR) — A ribbon cutting in Attleboro celebrated a brand-new facility for the unhoused on Wednesday.
The new building will include the first floor includes 18 emergency shelter beds for adults in need.
The top floors will be 22 permanent supportive housing units.
All this was made possible with the help of several different people and organizations.
It was a collaborative effort, spearheaded by NeighborWorks Housing Solutions.
And backed by several Massachusetts state leaders, including State Representative Jim Hawkins, and Senator Paul Feeney, and a number of community organizations.
“At Neighbor Works, we’re just so proud to be part of a project that is not just housing, but actually helping people start over to start over. To heal, stabilize, rebuild their lives and their relationships,” said CEO of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions Robert Croley.
People will be living in the building before the winter.
