RI Commerce: Short-Term Bridge Loans Made
Available for Restaurants and Microbusinesses
Rhode Island Commerce, in partnership with Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC), the Rhode Island Hospitality Association and Bank Newport, is launching a short-term bridge loan program for our restaurants and smallest businesses (1 to 10 employees). The program is funded through $1 million from the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation’s Small Business Loan Fund and $1 million from Bank Newport.
PBN: Amgen Foundation Donates $500K
to R.I. COVID-19 Response Fund
Amgen Inc. and the Amgen Foundation contributed $500,000 to the Rhode Island COVID-19 Response Fund, created in early March by the United Way of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Foundation to help support nonprofits impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The local donation is part of a $12.5 million effort by the biotechnology company to support needs across the U.S. and beyond affected by the outbreak.
New England Institute of Technology Donates
Critical Personal Protection Equipment to Care New England
The New England Institute of Technology has donated assorted Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to Care New England for distribution to its member facilities throughout Rhode Island. These protective items, which face a shortage internationally, are also used by students in NEIT’s health sciences degree programs in Nursing and Surgical Technology.
