CHRISTINE LOWELL SWORN IN AS ASSISTANT UNITED STATES ATTORNEY

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – United States Attorney Aaron L. Weisman today announced the appointment and swearing-in of Christine D. Lowell as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Rhode Island. Ms. Lowell has been assigned to the United States Attorney’s Office Criminal Division.

A native of Massachusetts, Ms. Lowell graduated magna cum laude in 2008 from Brown University. Ms. Lowell earned her Juris Doctor at Northwestern University School of Law in 2012.

Prior to joining the United States Attorney’s Office, Ms. Lowell served as an Associate in the Litigation and Enforcement Department of Ropes & Gray, LLP in Boston, where she advocated on behalf of clients in civil and criminal matters, including leading an international team of over forty law firm associates in multiple complex business litigation cases.

As an Associate with Ropes & Gray, LLP, Ms. Lowell also spent seven months as a Special Assistant Middlesex County District Attorney prosecuting criminal cases, and was awarded 2018 Prosecutor of the Year by the New England Chapter of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators.

While attending Northwestern University School of Law, Ms. Lowell served as a law clerk and paralegal at the Chicago law offices of Marszalek & Marszalek and taught English and math to third-grade bilingual students in Chicago.

While attending Brown University, Ms. Lowell volunteered at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Elementary School in Providence and at the Charles N. Fortes Academy of Providence.
