City of Providence and Laborers Local 1033 Reach Tentative Agreement for One Year and Three Year Contracts

PROVIDENCE, RI – The City of Providence and Local Union 1033 have reached an a tentative agreement for a one year and subsequent three year contract . Laborers’ Local 1033 represent public employees in city departments including City Hall, the School Department, Department of Public Works and the Parks Department, among others.

“I’m pleased to report that the City and the Local Union 1033 have reached a tentative agreement that is truly beneficial to all parties,” said Mayor Jorge Elorza. “This agreement allows for structural savings and long-term investments in our employees while putting Providence on a sustainable path in future years.”

“We are pleased that we have a tentative agreement that is a win, win for our members as well as the City of Providence,” added Local 1033 Business Manager Ronald Coia.

The tentative agreement will be considered for ratification by the membership of Local 1033 on Tuesday, November 27th. Upon passage, the contract will be sent to the City Council for ratification.
