City of Providence Parking Ban to Take Effect Friday, February 25 at 2AM Due to Inclement Weather

PROVIDENCE, RI  Due to expected snow, there will be a citywide parking ban on Friday, February 25, from 2:00 AM until 7:00 AM. Additionally, there will be no trash or recycling pick-up on Friday, February 25. As a reminder, property owners are responsible for shoveling their sidewalks to make foot traffic safer and easier for residents throughout the city.

Residents with overnight parking passes are advised that they cannot park on the street during the duration of the citywide parking ban. All vehicles parked on the street in violation of the citywide parking ban will be subject to ticketing and towing to ensure that roadways can be plowed.

Residents with regular trash and recycling collection on Thursday or Friday are asked to place bins out on Saturday morning. Due to holiday week and weather delays, some remaining trash may not be collected until Monday.

All Providence Public School Department activities are cancelled for Friday, February 25.

The Department of Public Works has prepared all equipment and personnel to respond to the storm. Roadways will be pretreated ahead of the expected snowfall. Residents are encouraged to prepare for winter weather by following the guidance on the City of Providence’s Snow Ready website.
