Providence, RI – Council Pro Tempore Juan M. Pichardo (Ward 9) has decided to step down from the Finance Committee, effective immediately.
“I hold a deep respect for our institution and ultimately believe that, at this time, I can best assist the committee’s work in an advisory capacity,” said Pro Tempore Pichardo. “I am proud of the work we have accomplished as a committee this year and look forward to the work ahead on behalf of our constituents.”
Council President Miller added, “I have accepted Pro Tempore Pichardo’s resignation from the Finance Committee and thank him for his commitment these past six months, particularly for helping the council vet and pass the city’s FY ‘24 budget. There is more to accomplish, and Pro Tempore Pichardo is an integral part of the council team.”
