Crews respond to serious crash on I-95 in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Traffic on I-95 was backed up Wednesday morning due to a serious crash in Providence.
Emergency crews responded to the southbound lanes near Exit 36B (Point Street) just before 6 a.m. The three left lanes were blocked as a result.
A pedestrian was struck on the highway, 12 News confirmed, but police have not provided any further information about what happened.
A 12 News crew spotted the state medical examiner at the scene.
Police were also seen picking up and bagging money near the crash site.
The crash cleared around 7:15 a.m.
