Dance the Night Away on the Roosevelt Avenue Bridge

Central Falls FREE Salsa Night Continues!

Central Falls– On Friday, June 29th, from 8 pm to 11 pm, join Mayor James A. Diossa and the City of Central in June’s FREE Salsa Night featuring special guests and local Rhode Island salsa stars Shawnee Taveras and Orlando Vanterpool.

Salsa Night, occurring on the last Friday of the month from May to September, provides family friendly fun as everyone dances the night away on the Roosevelt Ave Bridge. The admission is free and no experience is necessary.

“Salsa Nights are the most anticipated events of the year,” stated Mayor Diossa. “Come learn how to dance salsa over the Blackstone Valley River. This month will be a special one featuring Rhode Island salsa greats Shawnee Taveras and Orlando Vanterpool.”

Shawnee Taveras and Orlando Vanterpool will take to the stage at 9 pm after Mambo Pa Ti Dance Company’s easy-to-follow lessons beginning at 8 pm. The night will bring about free flowing dance for people of all ages and skill levels during the live band performance.

“Salsa Night is truly an event that serves so many different people,” stated Parks & Recreation & Community Service Director Rob Sayre-McCord. “Whether you are looking for something completely new that you are looking to try, or a regular, spinning through the dance floor; you are guaranteed to have a fun and safe night.”

A rotating cast of food trucks brought by FoodTrucksIN will provide food for sale. Aloholic beverages will also be available for purchase. The City of Central Falls has brought about Salsa Nights in large thanks to its sponsors: Navigant Credit Union, Blackstone Valley Community Health Center, Storage America, and Uber.

This Salsa Night is expected to continue the tradition of pervious Salsa Nights that have averaged over 1,000 people of all ages! People from the City and all parts of the state participated in the festivities. The events have served as a staple to provide a local, safe, and family fun night out.

The next three Salsa Nights will be held on the Roosevelt Avenue bridge on July 27th, August 31th, and September 28th.
