ASPR Welcomes Stakeholder Thoughts on a National Disaster Pediatric Initiative

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) is seeking input from those in the health care and, more specifically, the pediatric care community on a new initiative that will increase capability to provide a high level of consistently applied pediatric specialty care wherever disaster strikes. The feedback will be used to help ASPR better understand the unique healthcare needs of children during disasters. In addition, the feedback will assist with the development of a new Funding Opportunity Announcement and will inform ASPR’s decisions for purchasing equipment, supplies, and medication for the care of pediatric patients by National Disaster Medical System personnel.
