“I am so pleased to be able to present the first United States production of this historical drama,  El Rumor de la Sangre (The Rumor of Blood)  to New England audiences.” Says Francis Parra, Artistic Director. “This is an excellent sequel to our very well received play, Yo Soy Minerva, which was sold out for four presentations, 2016-2018.  This is the true story of the Mirabal sisters who stood up to the dictator Trujillo and as a result were assassinated.  Cesar Sanchez Beras has created a brilliant political thriller which is all the more heart-rending because it is a true story of a man at conflict with his love of his nation, and his lover, family and driven finally to treason by his innate sense of morality.  He then in fact is a hero.  Finding resonance for today’s audiences is not hard.”
