Employment Opportunities at Progreso Latino, Inc.

Progreso Latino is a Latino-led, community based organization offering an array of services across the age spectrum.  Programs include bilingual adult and early education, victims of crime intervention and prevention, senior and youth programs, immigration and social services, emergency food support, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), wellness programming, and more.

Openings include:

  • Bilingual Small Business Advisor: Part-Time/Full-Time
    • Assists minority small businesses to develop business plans and access capital
    • Requires flexible schedule, previous business experience, and self-motivation to visit and engage local businesses
    • Public speaking is a must
    • Spanish language fluency is required
  • Domestic Violence Caseworker/Program Coordinator: Part-Time/Full-Time
    • Assists victims of domestic violence and of crime to navigate systems of support and to develop strategies that will improve safety
    • Coordinate clinical, housing, and other support services
    • Assist victims in their use of the court system and other programs in order to address needs
    • Develop support groups and offer training
  • Coaches: Part-time
    • Helps children to develop skills in soccer and basketball
    • Works with children and families to develop healthy nutritional habits
    • Afternoon hours from 3pm to 5:30 pm
    • Prior coaching experience is needed
    • Spanish language fluency is a plus
  • Bilingual Youth Program Coordinator: Full-time
    • Helps to organize and develop youth in leadership activities that foster substance abuse prevention
    • Assists prevention coordinator in managing community coalition dedicated to substance abuse prevention
    • Experience working with youth and strong verbal and English writing skills is needed
    • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese Creole is important
  • Job Developer: Full-time/Part-time
    • Develops a strong community of employers offering community members jobs and training opportunities
    • Develops the skills of workers seeking employment and training opportunities
    • Connect workers to employment opportunities and track progress
    • Supervises and supports volunteers
    • Candidates should be fluent in English and Spanish, Portuguese a plus
  • Before and After School Youth Coordinator: Part-time
    • Assists school age children with homework and coordinates afterschool activities
    • Drivers license and three years experience driving is a plus
  • ESOL Teachers: Part-time
    • Experienced adult education instructors are sought to teach morning and evening classes
    • Teachers should have 1 or more years of experience and understand current adult education standards
  • Adult Education Evening Coordinator: Part-time (evening hours 5:30 to 9:00 Mon to Thursday)
    • An adult liaison assists adult students in ESOL, GED, and other classes with questions and communicates information regarding available programs to students.
    • This person is a critical mediator with host schools which offer space for classes
    • Effective communication skills in English and Spanish and transportation are requirements
