PROVIDENCE, RI, July 17, 2018 — FSRI (Family Service of Rhode Island) will be holding two block parties in support of local artists and the communities of South Providence. The block parties will be on Wednesday July 18th and Wednesday August 1st at Harriet & Sayles Park next to Mary E. Fogarty Elementary School. Each event will run from 5 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

“Every summer we look forward to holding these events in South Providence,” said FSRI CEO Margaret Holland McDuff. “They’re a ton of fun and provided a fantastic opportunity for families in the community to gain access to resources for themselves and their families that they may not have previously been aware were available to them.”

The block parties are free and open to anyone who wishes to attend and are made possible with support and funding from the Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism as part of their 2018 Neighborhood Performing Arts Initiative as well as from the Rhode Island Foundation.

The parties will feature music and art from performers and artists in the South Providence community. Performing Artists include Mr. Deep Positivity, Quisquella en Accion, Project 401, Hispanic United Development Organization, La Iglesia de la Comunidad Instrumental Performance and DJ Waldy.

In addition to live performances and interactive activities, the Providence Canteen will also be serving food and beverages for those attending the block parties.
