Fugitive Charged with Murder Arrested by RI Violent Fugitive Task Force

THE RHODE ISLAND VIOLENT FUGITIVE TASK FORCE ARRESTS

DIANTE WILLIAMS

 

 

On July 7, 2020, the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Diantae Williams in Newport, Rhode Island.  Williams was wanted on a warrant issued on June 11, 2020 from the District Court of Maryland for Harford County charging him with Murder-First Degree, Felony Assault, and Use of a Firearm to commit a Felony.

 

Investigators from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office along with the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Task Force (CARTF) developed information that Williams had fled to Rhode Island sometime after the incident.  The information was then forwarded to the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force.  At approximately 3:00PM, the Task Force able to locate, positively identify, and apprehend Williams.  Williams was transported to Rhode Island State Police Headquarters for processing.

 

The Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force is run by the U.S Marshals Service along with the Rhode Island State Police. The Task Force is comprised of members from the U.S. Marshals Service, the Rhode Island State Police, and the Warwick, Cranston, Coventry, East Providence, Middletown, Pawtucket, Portsmouth and Providence Police Departments who work full time to track down and apprehend the most violent and dangerous fugitives both within the United States and Internationally.
