HealthSource RI open enrollment starts on Friday

(WJAR) — Open enrollment starts for HealthSource RI on Friday.
Thousands of Rhode Islanders are already taking advantage of having an affordable option.
Families can enroll, change, or renew their health and dental coverage from now until January 31st.
Rhode Islanders have until December 23rd if they want coverage to begin right at the start of 2025.
Healthcare experts said many customers get financial assistance, through the Affordable Care Act.
“Tens of thousands of Rhode Islanders have been able to get access to affordable health insurance on Health Source RI and that has actually been enhanced in recent years because Congress passed a health care premium tax credit which lowers the monthly health insurance premium cost even more for people who get their plans through the Affordable Care Act,” Congressman Seth Magaziner said. “I am committed to doing everything I can in Congress to protect the Affordable Care Act from those who are trying to overturn it,” he added.

Several virtual information sessions for Open Enrollment will be held. The first are at 11:30 a.m. on November 5 and 9:30 am on November 7.
HSRI’s usual call center hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. are expanded during Open Enrollment to include late Tuesday evening hours until 8:00 p.m.
