NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) — Before you go to the beach this summer, the Rhode Island Department of Health wants you to check the water quality.
Jillian Chopy, the assistant health program administrator for the Beach Monitoring Program, told 12 News that, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the department collects water samples from recreational beaches.
