On October 16, 2019, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Luis Mercedes with one count of possession over one kilogram of fentanyl, one count of possession over one kilogram of heroin, four counts of conspiracy to violate Rhode Island’s Controlled Substance Act, eight counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, seven counts of possession of a firearm while possessing a controlled substance, one count of possession of between one ounce and one kilogram of heroin, and possession of between one ounce and one kilogram of fentanyl.
The alleged acts occurred in the city of Providence sometime on August 13, 2019. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation.
The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on October 23, 2019 in Providence County Superior Court.
Vladimir Brito (age 27)

On October 16, 2019, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Clark Murray, Jr. with one count of domestic murder.
