On September 21, 2020, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Charles Okafor with one count of first-degree sexual assault.

The alleged act occurred in the state of Rhode Island sometime between December 13, 2019 and December 14, 2019. The Rhode Island State Police conducted the investigation.

The defendant was arraigned on September 22, 2020 in Providence County Superior Court. He is currently being held without bail while he awaits his next court appearance.
