Internet connection back in Providence Public Schools as investigation continues

Providence Public Schools said internet connection is back in schools after the temporary disconnection in response to a network security breach.
The school district disconnected internet access for over a week after “irregular network activity” was detected by an IT staff on Sept. 11.
According to school officials, students and staff members were able to use their Chromebooks throughout the school on Monday.
The district said other devices will be reconnected in the coming week.
Providence Public Schools officials said an analysis is underway on what happened with their network.
School officials did not share additional information about the network security breach.
