Help us thank Senator Reed, Senator Whitehouse, Congressman Cicilline and Congressman Langevin for their support of the arts and humanities, and join them in a discussion of the role of the arts and the humanities at the federal level.
We’re excited to be joined by National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu. Since her first visit to Rhode Island in August 2014 – her first official visit to any state – Chairman Chu has been traveling extensively to speak about the important role of the arts in the lives of people and communities. We’re thrilled to have her be part of this conversation with the cultural community of Rhode Island.
We are also delighted that Karen Kenton of the National Endowment for the Humanities will be part of this conversation. Director Kenton has been involved with many NEH initiatives, including Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle and the History Film Forum. She also has been project executive at WETA, where she managed more than 25 national broadcast projects, including 15 co-productions with Ken Burns and Lynn Novick of Florentine Films, many of which were funded by NEH.
