WOBURN, Mass. (WPRI) — A Massachusetts man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a Burrillville teenager.
Shane Curry, 20, was initially charged with assault and battery on a household member and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
Officers were called to Curry’s home in Stow on April 5 after his mother reported not hearing from her son in two days.
Curry prevented the officers from coming inside for roughly two hours, according to authorities. The officers eventually made their way inside and found 17-year-old Nevaeh Goddard’s dead body.
Investigators believe Curry stabbed Goddard during an altercation. The circumstances surrounding Goddard’s death remain unclear.
Curry is currently being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for a later date.
