Man dies after Taunton River boating incident – Police make arrest in Pawtucket shooting

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — A man has died after a boating incident Wednesday morning in the Taunton River.
Fall River Detective Sgt. Moses Pereira told 12 News the distress call came in around 6:40 a.m. Two brothers were out fishing when their propeller got caught in a rope.
While trying to free the propeller, the vessel started taking on water, then both men ended up in the river, according to Pereira. He said one of them was able to grab a flotation device, but the other man went under.
First responders got the man out of the water and rushed him to St. Anne’s Hospital, where he died.
The man has not yet been identified.
Pereira said the incident remains under investigation.
