PROVIDENCE — A man fell to his death from the 18th floor of a downtown hotel early Sunday morning in an apparent suicide, according to Providence police.

Investigators believe the man found his way to a window in a kitchen area of the Graduate Providence hotel, said Providence police Detective Maj. David Lapatin.

Lapatin, who commented on the matter in response to a reporter’s question, said the man fell onto the street outside the hotel at 4 a.m.

An investigation continues, he said.
