Mayor Grebien Congratulates Tolman High School’s Divion 1 Champion Soccer Team

PAWTUCKET – On Wednesday, December 5th, Mayor Donald R, Grebien honored and congratulated the Tolman High School Boys Soccer team, who made history by clinching the school’s first every Division 1 soccer championship in November with a ceremony and pizza party.

“We are extremely proud of these boys and are excited to be able to honor and congratulate them for their accomplishments,” said Mayor Grebien who attended the championship game. “To come together as a family, go undefeated in the season which has only been done one other time since 1974, and fight to beat powerhouse La Salle (Acadamy) is a true testament this team and the coaches.”

Athletic Director Frank Laliberte, Coach of the Year Dan Silva, and Assistant Coach Eric Andrade were also in attendance as well as Senator Sandra Cano who provided citations from the State.

“The leadership and discipline in this team and young men stems from Frank (Laliberte), and Coach Silva, and Coach Andrade,” said Mayor Grebien. “They clearly deserved the championship and I look forward to seeing them defend their title next year!”

The team will also be honored by the City Council at tonight’s meeting.
