Mayor Smiley, police to announce 20 arrests after drug investigation near Kennedy Plaza

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Providence Mayor Brett Smiley and Providence police said they have made 20 arrests in connection with illegal drug sales in Kennedy Plaza.
Providence police and the mayor will detail the undercover operation that led to the arrests in a press conference on Monday at 9:30 a.m.
According to officials, police were able to obtain 22 arrest warrants after a month-long investigation into organized possession and distribution of illegal drugs.
City officials said 20 people have been arrested so far.
The press conference will be held at the Providence Public Safety Complex.
