NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) — A 64-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car while crossing the street in a mobility scooter in Newport.
Officers were called to the intersection Memorial Boulevard and Chapel Street just after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a man in a motorized scooter lying in the middle of the sidewalk.
