New comedy festival featuring Kevin Hart, Leslie Jones to come to Providence next year

The Veterans Memorial Auditorium announced Thursday that Lil Rhody Laugh Riot, a new four-day comedy festival, will be coming to Providence in 2025.

The event, which will feature comedy icons like Kevin Hart and Leslie Jones, will run from Thursday, March 27, to Sunday, March 30.

“This event isn’t just about comedy, it’s about creating a space where people from all walks of life can come together and share in the joy of laughter,” said Daniel Schwartz, the general manager of The VETS. “Rhode Island has always been known for its charm and creativity, and this festival will showcase both in the best way possible.”

The venues include The VETS, Providence Performing Arts Center and the RI Comedy Connection.

Event officials announced the first wave of headliners:

  • Kevin Hart: Thursday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. – Providence Performing Arts Center
  • Michael Blaustein: Friday, March 28 at 7 p.m. – The VETS
  • Leslie Jones: Saturday, March 29 at 4 p.m. – The VETS
  • Aziz Ansari: Saturday, March 29 at 7p.m. – Providence Performing Arts Center
  • Hannah Berner: Sunday, March 30 at 7 p.m. – The VETS
  • Chris Distefano: Sunday, March 30 at 9:45p.m. – The VETS

Tickets to the comedy festival is now available at the Lil Rhody Laugh Riot’s website.

City officials said that the Lil Rhody Laugh Riot will take place in conjunction with the inaugural Providence Culinary Collective, a food and wine festival honoring the city’s culinary legacy and brand.

“Providence has long been a city that thrives on creativity, culture and connection, and the Lil Rhody Laugh Riot is the perfect addition to our vibrant lineup of attractions,” Providence Mayor Brett Smiley said. “This comedy festival, paired with the debut of the Providence Culinary Collective, will showcase the best of what our city has to offer—world-class entertainment, exceptional cuisine and an energy that draws people together.”
