Providence, RI (July 14, 2025) – Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, known to many as “La Voz Flamenca de Puerto Rico,” Ana del Rocío, returns to New England to delight us with her intimate show titled “Noches de Flamenco y Bolero,” after captivating our audience during her last performance here this past January.

A series of two concerts will take place on Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. For this concert series, Ana del Rocío returns to Teatro ECAS in Providence, 679 Valley St, Providence RI. According to Francis Parra, Artistic and Executive Director of ECAS: “It is an honor to welcome new talents with the stage presence and captivating voice of Ana del Rocío. Many have requested it and she is returning to Teatro ECAS. Rocío will take us on a journey blending bolero melodies fused with Andalusian roots, brought to life through her infectious flamenco interpretation.”

“I have felt drawn to the idea of performing these boleros for this show for a long time, and I am very happy with the result I will present to you on these magical nights, where I promise our community will come together, sing with me, and connect both musically and culturally,” said Ana del Rocío.

“Noches de Flamenco y Bolero,” in addition to including various musical genres, features the Puerto Rican “danza,” fusing flamenco styles with Latin American influences that will take the audience on an unforgettable musical journey. For this series of shows, we will also have local talent joining Ana Del Rocío on stage. Mariana Paes from “Flamenco Rhode Island will also delight our audiences with her contagious “palos flamencos”. This surprise also comes with a free flamenco class on Saturday, August 30th at 2:00 PM. This class will be available for anyone who comes to the show.

Ana del Rocío has highlighted Andalusian rhythms in traditional Latin music shows, promising surprises that emphasize a unique connection with our beloved Latin American sounds. The evening will be a tribute to the legends and composers of bolero that we all know and love. Both genres, flamenco and bolero, have been recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The repertoire will include classics such as “Sabor a Mí,” “Nuestro Juramento,” “Contigo Aprendí,” “Piel Canela,” “El Reloj,” “Lágrimas Negras,” “La Tirana,” and many more.

Currently, Ana del Rocío is working with the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture on a research project titled “El Bolero en Puerto Rico,” an interactive musical workshop about the history of bolero on the island, its performers, and their contributions to the country’s musical development.

She is also preparing to release her next singles with Dsimorecords, Ángel Carrasco, and José Negroni: new versions of the songs “Evidencias” and “No lo puedes negar.” For more information, follow her on all her social networks @AnaDelRocioMusic.

The presentation of “Del Son al Flamenco” will be at Teatro ECAS on Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are now available for $25.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door. To purchase tickets, visit teatroecas.org or call (401) 421-3227.
