Off-duty Cranston officer accused of urinating on woman at Kenny Chesney concert
CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — Foxborough police said a man was arrested after allegedly urinating on a woman’s leg at the Kenny Chesney concert at Gillette Stadium on Saturday.
Police said they responded to the concert sandpit at about 9:15 p.m. after a report of a man that urinated on a woman’s shoes.
Shane Lynch, the man accused of the act, is a Cranston police officer and was off duty at the time of the incident, police said.
According to officials, the woman had felt a warm liquid hitting her leg. When she turned around, she told police that she saw a Lynch standing behind her.
The victim said that Lynch had his shorts zipper down and saw him urinating on her boots, according to the police report.
Foxborough police said the woman alerted security.
Police said Lynch appeared to be heavily intoxicated when they approached him.
Lynch was facing charges of disorderly conduct and destruction of property.
In a statement to NBC 10 News, Cranston Police Chief Michael Winquist called the incident a personnel matter and declined to share any further details.
“We are aware of the arrest and will handle the matter administratively,” Winquist said.
Lynch agreed to pay $100 in court costs to have the case dismissed.
He was also issued a trespass order by stadium security.
