Patriots begin building new training facility

FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Fans who have been to Gillette Stadium recently may have noticed some construction going on.
The New England Patriots announced Wednesday that they are building a new “football-exclusive training center.”
“The whole project is designed around the players and the player experience,” Kraft Sports and Entertainment Chief Operating Officer Jim Nolan explained. “As teams and team operations have grown, it was time for us to design a larger facility exclusively for the operation of the football team.”
The main floor will be where the players work out, train, rehab, relax and eat, according to Nolan, while the top floor is where the team will meet, watch film and strategize.
Some highlights of the facility include a nutrition center, player lounge, open-space locker room, expanded weight room and virtual reality rooms. It will also have new training rooms featuring “hydro” capabilities such as hot tubs, cold plunge tubs, a pool and an underwater treadmill.
In addition, the three existing practice fields behind Gillette Stadium will be redesigned as part of the project.
Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2026.
