We’re looking forward to four art-filled days and nights ahead with you. JoinFirstWorks and the City of Providence Dept. of Art Culture + Tourism downtown this week as welight up our streets with world-class curated performances along with hundreds of our amazing local artists, curators, food vendors and community organizations.
Join FirstWorks on Saturday for a Parade Style Workshop with Celebrity Costume Designer Machine Dazzle Glam up for the highly anticipated PVDFest Parade!
Known for outrageous looks on Broadway and the runway, Machine most recently dressed top model Cara Delevingne and designer Diane Von Furstenberg for the Met Gala, while working with performer Taylor Mac on his epic “24-Decade History of Popular Music” (coming to FirstWorks this Fall!). Hailed as “a true theatrical genius” by Hilton Als of the New Yorker, Machine Dazzle knows a thing or two about turning heads at parades. All materials will be provided for this workshop, so now is your chance to be the star of the show.Make a hat and sash to wear in the PVDFest Parade with Machine Dazzle! Saturday, June 8 from 12-3 PM at The Dark Lady – 19 Snow St. Providence.

This year we are thrilled to bring you vertical dance theater and taranta folk music from Italy, L.A.’s sensational all-female tapsquad, Haiti’s ambassador of hip-hop, Gambia’s first female kora virtuoso, songs of hope and peace from Uganda, Ukranian folk-punk theatre, sensational Salsa music straight out of Colombia, and so much more!
We count on people like you to get involved, understand the experience, and make it happen. Get behind the scenes experience at Providence’s biggest summer arts festival! Volunteers are needed June 6, 7, 8 & 9. Each volunteer will receive an exclusive PVDFest t-shirt.
