Johnson Prevot, 35, was stopped near 362 New State Highway after an officer allegedly saw him using a phone while driving. Prevot’s license was suspended, according to police, and he was taken into custody.

After his arrest, police said they noticed that a fanny pack Prevot had been wearing was missing, leading them to believe he was acting suspiciously.

Police searched the vehicle and found the fanny pack, which contained loose ammunition. Police said they also found a loaded gun and a ski mask inside the car.

Prevot does not have a license to carry a gun, police noted. He now faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a firearm without a license
  • Possession of a loaded firearm without a license
  • Possession of ammunition without an FID card
  • Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license
  • Use of an electronic device while operating a motor vehicle
