Police ID man killed in Woonsocket stabbing

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Woonsocket police have identified the victim killed in a stabbing that happened on Saturday night.

According to Police Chief Thomas Oates, just after 6 p.m., police were called to a disturbance in the area of 380 Social Street where several people were fighting.
When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as 32-year-old Christopher Penado, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
He was taken to Landmark Hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
Oates said the homicide is still under investigation.
