Police investigating after boy drowns in North Providence pool

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a child reportedly drowned in a pool in North Providence Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the Cassisi Court home around 3:15 p.m. following reports of a child who was pulled from a pool after being underwater for “an undetermined amount of time,” according to police.
Police said the officers arrived to find North Providence firefighters performing CPR on an unresponsive 4-year-old boy.
The boy was rushed to Hasbro Children’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His death remains under investigation at this time.
