Police investigating possible homicide in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence police confirm they are investigating a homicide.
Col. Oscar Perez said they received a call Tuesday morning to check on the well-being of someone who may have been hurt.
Officers responding to the home on Westminster Street aorund 9:30 a.m. found a man in the basement with “obvious physical trauma injuries.”
The victim has not yet been identified.
A portion of the roadway is closed in the area of Harrison Street.
This is the capital city’s 10th homicide of the year.
