Progreso Latino and the RICADV invite you to the virtual premiere and presentation of this important study that was recently published nationally.
The Zoom presentation will also include important remarks by Mario Bueno, Executive Director of Progreso Latino and Lucy Rios, Executive Director of RICADV. the RI Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Progreso Latino is an affiliate member agency of RICADV and part of its domestic violence prevention team in RI.
Background: During the pandemic, Dr. Marrs Fuchsel partnered with Progreso Latino’s AYUDAME/ Help Me Domestic Violence Program for this important study and interviewed 19 immigrant Latina survivors.

After registering, participants will receive the Zoom link by email from Eventbrite, the event registration platform.
Cost:The event is free. A $25 donation is requested to support the provision and delivery of emergency food to domestic violence survivors and Latinx mothers with children. It will also support the provision and delivery of formula and diapers.
Certificate, CEUs and Copy of Study: Every participant who registers will receive a Certificate of attendance with 1.5 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) hours and a copy of the study by email.
About the Presenter: Dr. Marrs Fuchsel is a Professor in the Morrison Family College of Health, School of Social Work at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is also Director of the Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) program and she teaches in that program. Dr. Marrs Fuchsel is originally from Lima, Peru and is also a bilingual Spanish-English Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with extensive direct practice experience working with Latinx families across the country. The study with Progreso Latino is part of her research that focuses on the prevention and intervention of intimate partner violence among immigrant Latinas and their families. She is the author of the book titled, Yes, I Can (Si­, Yo Puedo): An Empowerment Program for Immigrant Latina Women in Group Settings published with Oxford University Press.
