Project GOAL Announce Central Falls Cleanup Day at Ledge Street Lot

After School program and students to give back to community for future mini soccer pitch area

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Project GOAL and its students will be performing cleanup of trash at the Ledge Street lot in Central Falls on Friday, October 4 at 4pm.

The cleanup is part of the students “pay it forward” initiative from the end of the 2019 school year in June.  Each student gave a proposal for a way they could give back to the Central Falls community, the students reviewed each proposal, and then voted on the best one.  The site was picked as it is potentially going to be the location of a future soccer mini pitch, which the student of Project GOAL would have use of in the future.

The Project GOAL students will be joined by members of City Hall, Project GOAL staff and Board members, and members of the Central Falls community.

“It’s so wonderful to see student athletes giving back to the community by helping clean up our city.   I am pleased to know that Project GOAL is helping to teach our students on and off the field,” says Mayor James A. Diossa. “Thank you to Project GOAL for the consistent dedication to our youth.”
