Providence parking metercollector arrested

Providence police arrested a veteran parking meter collector who’s accused of stealing money out of the meters.
The NBC 10 I-Team was the first to report that Frances Holt was taken into custody.
Police said they received an anonymously sent video of Holt tampering with a parking meter.
The incident happened on Blackstone Street at Kiosk #29, sid police.
Authorities were able to identify Holt and on October 12, she was placed on suspension.
The Detective Bureau was assigned to the case Tuesday. According to a police report, they were unable to determine just how long or how much money Holt had taken out of machines.
Holt has more than 20 years on the job.
A police report described the charges against Holt as wrongful conversion under $100.
Holt was arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Providence District Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
