PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A man and a woman face charges after an assault at a Providence pizza restaurant, according to police.
The incident happened shortly before 9 pm on Saturday at Brother’s Famous Pizza on Broad Street.
Providence Police Chief, Colonel Oscar Perez, said a man, 49, who worked at the pizzeria, told officers he had been in an argument with two people about an incident that had taken place days before.
Perez said the man walked back into the shop “to avoid any further issues” but that the pair followed him into the business.
At that point, Perez added, the confrontation turned physical, and the victim was struck in the face with a hammer.
The victim, said Perez, sustained minor injuries to the face and was evaluated by Rescue on scene.
According to Chief Perez the suspects, a female, 49, and a male, 67, were arrested and charged.
