Providence Public Library Co-presents Context & Conversation – Native Gardens

PROVIDENCE, RI – In conjunction with Native Gardens, currently running at Trinity Repertory Company, Providence Public Library (PPL) and Trinity Rep co-presentContext & Conversation – Native Gardens on Sunday, April 22 at Radia Herbs Farm, 684 Natick Ave., Cranston.

Karen Zacarías’ play Native Gardens, now on stage at Trinity Repertory Company brings big, complicated questions about belonging, biology, and borders to the familiar, homey setting of the back yard –  and then makes it the comic battle ground on which her big, complicated characters struggle to resolve them.

Join us for Context & Conversation to consider how we struggle with those questions in our own lives, and in our own community. Snacks and a farm walk included – what better way to spend Earth Day?

Panelists are: Karen Joy Ascher of the RI Wild Plant Society; Marta Martinez, Executive Director of RI Latino Arts; Rachel Playe, farmer and herbalist; and moderator Christina Bevilacqua, PPL Programs & Exhibitions Director and Trinity Rep’s Conversationalist-in-Residence. Free and open to the public, you don’t need to see the play to participate! More info here.
