Providence Public School District experiences network security breach
by NBC 10 NEWS
(WJAR) — The Providence School Board announced on Wednesday that the public school district has experienced a network security breach.
Providence School Board President Erlin Rogel said in a statement that the school board intends to address it with urgency.
The district announced last week that it was investigating an “irregular network activity,” and that the issue was isolated and contained.
The school board plans to meet in an executive session to learn more about the breach and how to resolve it, according to a release.
“We also want to learn what liability resides with our network security vendor and what measures are being taken to ensure this doesn’t happen again,” Rogel said in a statement.
