Providence Safety Officials to Conduct Safety Drill at Providence City Hall 4/10

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Providence Public Safety officials, including members from the Providence Police Department (PPD) and the Providence Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) will be conducting an office-by-office safety drill in Providence City Hall on April 10, 2019.

The exercise will be conducted in each office, one at a time. In an effort to ensure minimal disruption to normal activities and services, City Hall will remain open through the duration of the exercise with members of the Providence Public Safety departments at each office exercise. No actual or simulated firearms will be used.

This exercise is a culmination of several weeks of training for City Hall employees that included both classroom instruction and office-specific workshops.  The primary goal of this exercise is to prepare employees in the case of any emergency and proper protocol and procedures. Visitors of Providence City Hall should not experience any delays to city business but are advised that the drill will be taking place during business hours.
