Providence woman accused of driving under the influence with child in car

(WJAR) — Connecticut State Police said a Providence woman was arrested for driving under the influence while a child was in the vehicle on Sunday.
According to state police, they responded to Route 2 in East Hartford at around 5:21 p.m. after multiple reports of a vehicle that was failing to maintain its lane.
State police said the vehicle was pulled over in the shoulder when they arrived at the scene.
A good Samaritan had pulled over with the suspect car and had taken the keys from the operator, according to officials.
According to the witness, the vehicle had been all over the roadway and almost struck other vehicles and guardrails when the car pulled over.
Connecticut State Police said officers observed a woman, Javglad Garcia, holding a child in the backseat when they approached the vehicle.
Garcia said she was operating the vehicle and that she pulled over because she could not see well, officials said.
State police said Garcia showed signs of impairment and she failed to perform standard to Standardized Field Sobriety Test.
Authorities said Garcia is facing charges of illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/ drugs, risk of injury to a child and second-degree reckless endangerment.
According to state police, the child was not injured.
Garcia is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 13.
