RECALL – Hannaford recalls seafood salad for undeclared soy
by: Leah Crowley
(WPRI) — Elevation Foods is recalling the Hannaford Seafood Salad because it has undeclared soy, posing a risk to people with allergies.
The recall involves nearly 1,700 units of the 12 oz. containers of the salad, which have use-by dates of Nov. 13, 2024, and Nov. 14, 2024. The Universal Product Code (UPC) is “0 41268 25161 2.”
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the affected products were only sold in Hannaford stores in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York. There are Hannaford stores in Taunton, Waltham and Middleborough, Mass.
The recalled seafood salad has since been removed from store shelves.
According to the FDA, the recall was initiated after it was discovered the printer company gave labels to Elevation Foods that did not match the product’s ingredient list. The labels were created in anticipation of an upcoming change to the ingredients.
There have not been any reports of illness related to the product, the FDA said.
Customers can return the recalled products to the place of purchase for a full refund. Anyone with questions can call (978) 646-8950 ext. 104.
