The Rhode Island State Police confirmed Monday afternoon that the body discovered off of Plainfield Pike last Wednesday is 56-year-old Michele Romano.

Romano had been reported missing out of Warwick last summer by a family member, according to police. Her last known address was on Hazard Avenue.

Police have determined that Romano’s death is suspicious in nature, though it remains unclear exactly how she died.

Anyone with information regarding Romano’s disappearance or death is asked to contact the Rhode Island State Police by calling (401) 647-8039.
