Rent assistance available at Saturday’s Housing Fair

Saturday is an important day in our city. We’re hosting a Housing Resource Fair for CF residents and landlords, and you don’t want to miss it! You’ll be able to begin applying on-site for rent payment assistance, get help with lead safety in your home, legal services, and so much more. Some of the organizations at the event will include:

I also want to remind you how extremely important, and urgent, it is for our whole city to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The dangerous Delta Variant is spreading fast, and we need all of our families safe! We’re hosting a pop-up vaccine clinic outside of City Hall on Sunday. Register here.

If you’re free on Saturday morning, join me as I walk around our city with Project GOAL Inc. to motivate businesses to purchase sponsorship bricks for our new soccer mini pitch site, which will be an outstanding new outlet for youth to have fun and stay active. We’ll meet at the Ledge Street parking lot (68 Ledge Street) tomorrow morning at 10:30am before walking around. Join us!

Planning to come to our Central Falls Housing Resource Fair on Saturday to apply on-site for rent and/or utility assistance through RentReliefRI? You can stop by to learn more, or get on-site application support.

If you would like to begin your application process on-site quickly, here’s what tenants and landlords will need with them:

TENANTS:

• Proof of residency (e.g. a bank statement, utility bill, driver’s license)
• Proof of income (e.g. wage statements, unemployment letter, 2020 tax return)
• Signed copy of your lease agreement or documentation showing tenancy (a pattern of rent payment)
• Documentation demonstrating your owed rent / utility bills overdue (e.g. past due utility bill, eviction notice, 5 day demand letter, or communication from landlord)

*If you have received a notice from the court for an eviction proceeding against you, please have that documentation available.
**Even if you do not have these documents, RentReliefRI will be on-site to answer your questions and begin the application process.

LANDLORD/PROPERTY MANAGER:

• W-9 Form
• EIN or SSN Verification (e.g. tax filing, social security card)
• Rent arrearage documentation (e.g. ledger, past due notice)
• Proof of property ownership (e.g. mortgage statement, real estate tax bill, water bill)
• Tenant contact information (e.g. cell phone, email address)

Solicite asistencia para el alquiler y los servicios públicos en la Feria de Recursos de Vivienda de Central Falls 

¿Planifica venir el sábado a nuestra Feria de Recursos de Vivienda de Central Falls para solicitar asistencia para el alquiler y/o servicios públicos a través de RentReliefRI? Puede pasar por aquí para obtener más información u obtener asistencia para aplicaciones.

Si desea comenzar su proceso de solicitud rápidamente, esto es lo que los inquilinos y propietarios necesitarán tener a mano:

INQUILINOS:

• Prueba de residencia (por ejemplo, un extracto bancario, factura de servicios públicos, licencia de conducir)
• Comprobante de ingresos (por ejemplo, declaraciones de salarios, carta de desempleo, declaración de impuestos de 2020)
• Copia firmada de su contrato de arrendamiento o documentación que muestre la tenencia (un patrón de pago de la renta)
• Documentación que demuestre que sus facturas de alquiler/ servicios públicos adeudadas están vencidas (por ejemplo, factura de servicios públicos vencida, aviso de desalojo, carta de demanda de 5 días o comunicación del propietario)

* Si ha recibido una notificación de la corte para un proceso de desalojo en su contra, tenga ese documento disponible.
** Incluso si no tiene estos documentos, RentReliefRI estará en el lugar para responder sus preguntas y comenzar el proceso de solicitud.

PROPIETARIO / ADMINISTRADOR DE PROPIEDAD:

• Formulario W-9
• Verificación de EIN o SSN (por ejemplo, declaración de impuestos, tarjeta de seguro social)
• Documentación de atraso de alquiler (por ejemplo, libro mayor, aviso de atraso)
• Prueba de ser dueño/a de la propiedad (por ejemplo, declaración de hipoteca, factura de impuestos sobre bienes raíces, factura de agua)
• Información de contacto del inquilino (por ejemplo, teléfono celular, dirección de correo electrónico)
